CHARLIE CHARLIE is a creative partnership between Jack Flynn and Charlotte Lobdell, who met as classmates at USC, graduated from the Film & Television Production BFA program in 2017, and have been collaborating together since.
JACK is the Head of Development at Bazmark, Baz Luhrmann’s production company, based on the Gold Coast in Australia. Prior to his time at Bazmark, he sold an original series to Macro Ventures and worked as a researcher on BABYLON, producing a 350+ pg. historical brief for Damien Chazelle. More recently, he wrote GRANDE ENVIE, a fashion film directed by four-time Oscar-winner Catherine Martin for Miu Miu, starring Willem Dafoe and Daisy Ridley. Jack was also the primary researcher on ELVIS and co-produced EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, Baz Luhrmann’s first foray into nonfiction filmmaking, hailed by Variety as “One of the Most Exciting Concert Films You’ve Ever Seen.”
CHARLOTTE loves blending high and low culture to tell stories about impetuous young women—their obsessive friendships, messy romances, and the moral gray areas in which they operate in pursuit of their dreams. She is a novelist who narrates audiobooks for Macmillan, Amazon, Scholastic, and more. She worked as showrunner’s assistant for Hulu’s DOLLFACE, and as the writers’ assistant on Amazon’s YA television reboot of CRUEL INTENTIONS. She has also produced content at Snapchat and worked in the lit department at UTA.
TOGETHER, Jack and Charlotte have three pilot scripts, an active book option, and an animated gothic-fantasy short. Charlotte is preparing to take her YA crossover novel INFLUENCED to market and Jack is co-producing Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film about the life of Joan of Arc.
